Sheriff Should Be Expelled From PDP– Jalo

Immediate past deputy national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Jalo, yesterday called for the expulsion of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff from the PDP.

Jalo, who was an aspirant deputy national chairmanship at the last national convention ofthe party, said if Sheriff cannot denounce his claim to the chairmanship of the party he should be sent out of the party.

He further revealed that the waiver which was said to have been signed by Professor Adewale Oladipo (then national secretary) wasnot presented to National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

Sheriff has maintained his claim to the chairmanship of the party after the party’s convention on May 21 in Portharcourt, Rivers State, appointed Sen Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee to lead the party.

He said “It is very simply to sort out this problem. The PDP stakeholders in Borno Stateshould not take this crisis in PDP the way they took the Boko Haram crisis. They should call Ali Modu Sheriff to come and see the national leadership for him to denounce his claim because he lacks so many things that are very apparent.

“One, he is not a member of the party. Two, thewaiver they said they gave him was signed by Professor Oladipo (then national secretary) and was not presented to NEC. I had been attending NEC meetings. The constitution saysyou must be two years in the party before you contest anything.

“Three, if he cannot denounce his claim, the party should expel him. Moreso, a High Court has said he has never been chairman based onwhat our constitution has spelt out. So it will be doom for Ali Modu Sheriff. They went and formed APC, he played this type of tactics. He came to the PDP and got himself in this kind ofmess again.

“Nobody will trust him as a politician because he must have a platform. As a politician, he must play party politics, otherwise, he cannot do anything. So it is better for him to start getting honour for himself by thinking who he will associate with. The party is stronger than anybody,” Jalo said.
