Police Deploy Bomb Squad, ‎Armed Policemen As 1,300 Candidates Take Aptitude Test In Bayelsa

Armed Mobile Policemen and a detachment of Bomb Squad unit of the Bayelsa Police Command were yestrday deployed to the venue of the aptitude text for over 1, 300 participatants for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) recruitment exercise.

The Spokesman of the Command, Mr Asinim Butswat, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Yenagoa,said the ‎security was deployed for adequate measures to ensure security at the venue, Bishop Diemeri Grammar School (BDGS), Okaka, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the State

According to Butswat, “This exercise is for three-days and we started with the Cadet ASPs and Specialist/ General duty; well, in total, we have about 1, 300 candidate for the exam.”

“we have enough policemen, the bomb unit of our command have taken over the venue and we also have enough mobile policemen on ground.”

“Here in the venue, we have one exit gate and one entrance gate to ensure that everything is being organised smoothly; so, we have putting adequate measures to checkmate unforeseen occurrences,” he said.

Butswat said the number comprised those applied for the Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPs), Specialist and General duty, Cadet Inspectors, Specialist and General duty, Recruit Constables, Specialist among others.

He explained that the aptitude test exercise, which is currently on-going nationwide was in line with the federal government plans to recruit 10, 000 persons NPF.

It would be  recalled that Police Service Commission (PSC) had on Friday shortlisted 110,469 applicants out of the 338, 250 applicants invited for the just concluded screening at the states and FCT Police Commands.
