I Will Continue To Support Nigeria, Liberia, Says Obasanjo

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Has pledged that he would continue to support everything that would be in the best interest of Nigeria and Liberia.

Obasanjo gave assurance while hosting Liberia vice President, Mr Joseph Boakai, on Wednesday at his hiltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.

Boakai was in Nigeria for an international conference organised by Save Democracy Group Africa. The former President said, “You can count on us that we would continue to support your country because the developmentof Liberia is paramount to us.

“If any country in West/Africa is lagging behind,then West/Africa is disturbed,” he said.

Earlier, the Liberia Vice President had stressed the need for quality investment in African youths to secure the future of the continent.He also called on African leaders to be united in fighting corruption in order to enhance sustainable economic development in the continent.

Boakai expressed concern at the increased rate of capital flight from the continent while many African countries remained underdeveloped and their youths unemployed.

He urged the leaders to be prudent in the management of the resources of their respective countries for the benefit of all in order to develop sense of belonging among thecitizens.
